Anodized finishes on windows and doors emit a subtle radiance. They are created using an electrolyte process with oxide film to coat the exterior aluminum clad surfaces. This results in a reflective, metallic sheen that  demands attention. This prefinish is warranted for 10-years.

Neat+™ harnesses the sun's UV rays to breakdown greenhouse gases, other pollutants and loosens dirt so water can rinse it away, leaving windows cleaner, longer. A special sputter-coating process makes the glass ultra smooth, so the water "sheets off" more readily than it would on uncoated glass, allowing you to spend less time cleaning.

Preserve® is a film that protects the glass surfaces during transit and construction, as well as reducing the time involved in job site clean-up.

Enhance indoor spaces with unique options that bring comfort and luxury to any design. Kolbe offers a selection of windows and doors with smart glass that can switch from obscure to transparent on demand – for various levels of privacy when and where you need it. When electricity is applied, the glass is turned ‘on’ and the liquid crystals align to allow light to pass through. When the glass is turned ‘off ’, the liquid crystals scatter, partially blocking the light.

Gauzy LCG® PDLC Smart Glass uses premium polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films that are laminated between two pieces of glass to create switchable privacy capabilities. CLiC™ glass uses a polymer stabilized cholesteric texture (PSCT) liquid crystal technology applied directly to the glass without the use of a film. Both Gauzy LCG® PDLC and CLiC™ provide modern solutions for privacy on demand and controller options that vary from from wall-mounted touch panels to home automation systems.

Kolbe offers glazing options to provide optimum energy efficiency for the geographic region in which you live. Low-E is a "smart" coating that reduces energy transfer through the insulating glass unit. The result is reduced heating and cooling costs throughout the year. Low-E coatings also reduce the potential for condensation, as well as provide protection against fading of furniture, fabrics and carpeting.

Kolbe offers the following Low-E glass options, as well as many specialized options.

Solar Low-E

Suitable for most climates and meets most energy zone requirements. Solar Low-E glass is designed to reflect room-side heat back into the room during winter months. In summer, visible sunlight is allowed in while blocking most of the sun's infrared heat energy. Kolbe's standard.

Solar Gain Low-E

When the weather turns frigid, Solar Gain Low-E glass is the perfect cold remedy. It keeps homes warmer and more comfortable by blocking heat loss to the outside and letting the sun's heat stream in to increase solar heat gain.

Solar Advanced Control Low-E

A tinted glass recommended for warm climates that achieves solar control over a wide range of the spectrum, while also helping to reduce glare.

Solar Control Low-E

Offers an ideal balance of solar control and high visibility by blocking 95% of UV rays while maintaining the interior temperature.

ThermaPlus Low-E

An additional Low-E coating which helps to meet the strictest energy requirements by providing protection against heat loss and UV damage. Available with dual pane versions of Solar Low-E, Solar Control Low-E, Solar Increased Control Low-E, or Solar Advanced Control Low-E glass.

Triple Pane

Provides a greater energy performing window that keeps indoor air warm and comfortable, prevents heat loss and lowers your heating bills. It is constructed with three panes of glass, thermal spacer bars and is available in Solar Low-E, Solar Gain Low-E, Solar Control Low-E and Solar Advanced Control Low-E glass.

Preserve® Film

A protective film that protects the glass surfaces from scratches during transit and construction, as well as reducing the time involved in job site clean-up.

Tinted, Colored or Patterned

Provides shading, privacy or visual interest.

Tempered

Standard in Kolbe doors to address safety concerns. Also available in window units to meet specific building codes.

Laminated

Benefits include safety, security, sound control and provides the ultimate in UV blockage.

Impact

Glazing utilized to withstand harsh environmental conditions, especially in coastal regions. Combined with an impact rated product, this glazing offers the highest level of security.

Divided Lites

With Kolbe's performance divided lite (PDL) system, bars are adhered on the interior and exterior of an insulating glass unit and bars aligned within the unit.

PDL bars are available in various widths and patterns. They may be finished to match the exterior and/or interior, as requested.

Exterior Material

A durable exterior helps safeguard the beauty of windows and doors, and helps prevent damage during harsh weather. This product has durable cladding of 6063 extruded aluminum alloy that is press-fit onto the exterior of the wood. Accessory grooves are integral to the frame exterior, which allows for factory or job site installation of extruded aluminum casing, sill nosing, and other exterior trim.

Extruded Aluminum Cladding

NOTE: This photo is an Ultra Series inswing entrance door with extruded aluminum cladding on the exterior. It is meant to represent the exterior material; it is not necessarily representative of how the product on this page is constructed.

Ultra Series direct sets are available in two profiles: Beveled and Ogee. Beveled direct sets work well for projects with modest design features. Ogee direct sets have added details similar to storefronts, to achieve a traditional style. With both, glass is set directly into the frame without a sash and, therefore, cannot operate.

Exterior Trim

Casing helps define the architectural design of a structure. It frames the curbside view of windows and doors, and can evoke a period style. Ultra Series casing has been designed to be aesthetically similar to wood trim. Because it is extruded aluminum rather than wood, however, it offers greater durability and rigidity. It is usually finished the same color as the window unit, but can be a contrasting color for visual impact.

Sill nosing is designed to complement window casing and define the bottom of a window unit. The selection made is often influenced by the exterior siding choice and installation method, in addition to the architectural profile. Like extruded brickmould, extruded aluminum sill nosing offers greater durability and rigidity than wood. The exterior finish color will match the casing.
